We Offer Yin Yoga Classes, Restorative and Hatha Yoga Instruction as well as Pilates Fusion.
Our Vancouver yoga studio, provides an urban sanctuary to practice yoga in the heart of yaletown.
At The Space, we incorporate many styles of yoga (yin, hatha, restorative & vinyasana flow). We believe that the combination encourages the many layers of the practice to unfold within. Yin promotes healthy joints and connective tissues (hips, shoulders and spine), restorative and slow hatha allow students to experience deep states of relaxation, and we use flow to generate energy, heat, endurance and muscular flexibility in the body. All important aspects of well being. These classes are drop-in classes suitable for all levels.
Each teacher draws on their own experience as well as other disciplines to give students the opportunity to develop their own practice.

I have done yoga in a variety of different places, but The Space is just different. Yoga at the Space just IS what it IS. And that realness is a beautiful thing.
The Space is a safe place to either continue your practice or to start to learn yoga. You see, there are actually a multitude of variations on each posture, from easy/less flexible to more advanced/more flexible, so you never feel like you are not doing the pose 'correctly'.
Thank-you Space team!! Keep up the great work. |

I have been training at The Space since 2006. Initially, I wanted to improve my posture. Not only did I achieve this with the assistance of the many excellent trainers at The Space but I also increased my flexibility, developed an ability to rotate with greater degree and built a deep core. As a pleasant aside, I also found I have developed a more relaxed and focused feeling in my daily activities, a benefit which I attribute directly to my experiences at The Space.” ~ Bill Race, Vancouver |

Wendy Eyton has been actively teaching private and group yoga in Vancouver BC since 2003. She took her primary hatha Yoga training at Prana Yoga College and has since studied yin yoga and restorative yoga practices which are incorporated in to her teaching. Her primary focus is working with people who are in rehabilitation or who experience high levels of stress. She uses a variety of techniques including restorative yoga, hatha yoga, meditation, breathing & nutrition.Wendy works closely with a variety of professionals including pilates teachers, chiropractors, acupuncturists to ensure each client is effectively treated. She leads workshops at Prana Yoga College & The Space on Restorative Yoga practices.
Diana Batts - Diana’s teaching combines the quiet meditative work of yin yoga with the moving breath of vinyasa (flow), inspired by trainings with Sarah Powers, Paul Grilley and Shiva Rea, among others. Yin yoga targets the deeper connective tissue, promoting healthy ligaments and joints, especially the hips, shoulders and spine. Yin postures are held passively for three to ten minutes. Vinyasa or yang yoga brings energy, heat, endurance and muscular flexibility through dynamic movement. These classes are suitable for all levels and those who wish to enjoy the benefits of both complementary forms of yoga: a balance between the practice of movement and stillness. Diana encourages students to practice with an open enquiring mind in a safe and supportive environment.
Heather DeLong has been teaching Hatha yoga since 2004. She has had the opportunity to study with a variety of inspiring teachers in Vancouver, San Francisco and Shanghai and incorporates these experiences into her own teaching style. A certified Yin yoga and Hatha instructor, her classes integrate the deep openings of Yin yoga, the guided breath work and flowing movement of Hatha, and precise guidance developed from her own Iyengar experience. Instruction includes variations and alternatives to encourage ease and awareness in each moment. Heather’s goal is to help each student cultivate a safe, lifelong personal practice.
